While Easter is meant to be a time of reflection and family, there is a sadness Sunday. The bombing that hit churches and hotels this Easter morning in Sri Lanka killed hundreds.

The incident is sadly just another example of terrorism in places of worship.

In October of last year, a Pittsburgh synagogue was the sight of a mass shooting. It was the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in the United States.

And just a few months ago, a shooting killed nearly 50 at a New Zealand mosque. Parishoners say to hear about it, is all too common.

"So tragic, I have so much sadness when events like this happen," said parisioner Mary Emily Alibrandi.

"It's devestating, heartbreaking for the family and friends going through that crisis," said another parisioner Shakeemia McCrae.

Bishop Cunningham at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse did not openly address terrorism, but preached a message of rising above discouragement.
