The future of the Wellington House in Fayetteville is causing some disagreements between lawmakers.

Some want the town of Manlius to deny a zoning change at the site.

There’s been talk of a developer wanting to bring a retail center to the property.   

But Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon said he wants to preserve the historic buildings on the property.

"Not all development makes sense for every community and certainly we don't believe that that development there whether any level of retail makes sense,” he said. “You have a Town Centre right there and traffic issues as is."

Developers were originally planning to present the project to the town board later this month, but it’s now unclear when more information will be provided.
