Utica Police say a woman is in custody for her alleged connection to the officer-involved shooting death of a Syracuse man back in January.
According to police, authorities arrested Amanda Bushley, 30, during a drug raid on Thursday.
She has been charged with one count of attempted robbery and prostitution.
Police said units were sent to Lincoln Avenue in Utica on January 7 following a shots-fired call. They found Shatelle Hooks, 35, had been shot multiple times. He died at a nearby hospital.
Police identified the shooter as Christofer Kitto, 34, an off-duty Albany Police officer.
Police said Kitto was in the house with Bushley when Hooks pulled out a knife and attempted to rob Kitto during a fight. Kitto then shot Hooks.
Kitto is not being charged in this case since authorities described the shooting as justifiable but he was suspended from the Albany Police Department.
