High school students on Staten Island got a glimpse of what it's like to be an engineer.

Around 100 students from six catholic schools attended the Engineering Tomorrow Conference at Monsignor Farrell High School in Richmondtown on Wednesday.

They learned about angles, accuracy, and phototherapy, which is the use of light to treat certain medical conditions. The goal of the conference is to expose students to a field they may not be familiar with.

"These are all modern stuff that's going on and we're all looking to make an impact on the world, so, I think that this is a good way to start," said Craig Sorrenti, a junior at Moore Catholic High School.

The purpose of Engineering Tomorrow is to expose and attract high school students to the engineering field, especially girls and minority students.
