It's called the European Travel Authorization System (E.T.I.A.S.), a new program the European Nation will be implementing in 2021. It will be screening for additional security measures on everyone entering and exiting the countries.

"We have a similar system in the United State, if someone from Europe wanted to come here we asked them to go online,” said Ed Welsh, AAA GM of the Mohawk Valley. “We've had this in place for awhile and not surprisingly the Europeans would not want to do the same thing."

This travel requirement is not needed yet as you can travel freely in any European country up to 90 days without a visa.

For AAA though, they still suggest to get a E.T.I.A.S.

"Personally I would still get this. It's just going to make my life that much easier when I am traveling. It's not required nowadays, but it will make my life a lot easier while traveling,” said welch.

The E.T.I.A.S. authorization will be valid for three years and allows an unlimited number of entries into all 26 participating countries. Of them includes, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland are the 26 countries.

Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Cyprus are currently in the process of joining the Schengen area.
