The Village of Liverpool is about to get a makeover.

Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announced the Village's Main Street Rehab Project on Tuesday.

Six properties on First Street will get some major updates, which includes enhanced exteriors, new streetscapes and energy efficient upgrades. The total project will cost more than $1 million, and is funded by both the public and private sectors.

"These are the hearts of our towns and two thirds of our population in the county lives in our towns," said McMahon.

"The curb appeal is very important. I think it's going to bring new people into the area and honestly I think this development is going to increase business for everybody," said Donna Crowley, Property and Business Owner.

Construction is expected to begin this summer and may be completed by 2020.
