James Bermadone was just one of the many fans on hand for the Syracuse Mets open house. The team opened up NBT Bank Stadium Saturday to get fans excited for the 2019 season.
There was so much excitement, for the first time, they had to turn people away.
"It's just the effect of having a New York team. The NY Mets here in Syracuse is really evident it's going to be an exciting year," said Syracuse Mets General Manager James Smorol.
And with lots of new additions, fans are thrilled.
"It's a new brand, like a fresh start. I see people here in the store today and I couldn't even walk in there, there's so many people buying merchandise," said Syracuse Mets fan Tyler Tenick.
Fans can expect an improved experience with VIP parking, new food themed nights, and a new ticketing system.
"We have a new group sales project called group madix. If you have a large group we know its hard to communicate to everybody, now you just send out email links and click from who is sitting in what seat," Smorol said.
As well as excitement for new players like Tim Tebow.
"Someone that famous will be playing here in Syracuse, it will add to the experience of being a Syracuse mets fan," Tenick said.
Although there are many new additions, some popular things are staying the same, such as $1 Thursdays and kids eat free Sundays.
