A local restaurant owner walks into a grocery store and leaves with some new pet lobsters.

The owners of Twin Trees Pizza in Liverpool discovered two 100-year-old lobsters were being sold at the Wegman's in DeWitt. They wanted to save them from being eaten.

With help from friends at ABC Reefs in Solvay, they worked to set up tanks. One lobster was bought for $140 and his female mate sold for $110.

The business owners realized they were a long-term couple, and couldn't keep them apart.

"He was fancying and favoring her, chasing her around the aquarium, so we couldn't separate them so we ended up coming home with two," said Twin Trees Pizza co-owner Jennifer Rescignano.

The restaurant is holding a naming contest for the lobsters. Every customer that comes in before March 20th will have a chance to vote.

If your suggestions are picked, you get free pizza for a year.
