Putting smiles on kids faces, and turning dreams into reality, is what the Make-A-Wish Foundation is all about. For nearly 40 years the foundation has been impacting thousands of kids lives across the globe.

In Central New York 140 wishes are still waiting to be answered, and in the Mohawk Valley itself there are 35. For one kid by the name of Seth Willson, 7, from Rome, New York, his wish was answered last March.

Seth and his family made a trip of a lifetime down to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, where you could say Seth had the time of his life.

"It's awesome. It's like you're living a dream but you really know it's not a dream, it's real life,” Seth said, who is the 2019 Make-A-Wish ambassador.

Seth’s mom, Amanda Willson, says he was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Juvenile Dermatomyositis, when he was younger.

According to Amanda, four out of a million children come down with this terrible disease. The family says through the thick and the thin, one of many people who has been there for the family has been Make-A-Wish

"They have helped us so much, not only what they do for him, but they are there for us too,” Amanda said.

On Sunday, Make-A-Wish teamed up with the Utica College Hockey team, who raised funds to make the wishes of children like Seth come true.

"It's amazing to be able to put a smile on these kids faces, especially for some of these kids who have gone through a lot,” said Gregg Burmaster, captain for the Utica College Hockey team.

And at the end of the day, Seth is happy not only to live out his wish, but also to see wishes of others become fulfilled.

“Thank you for everything and bless the USA,” Willson said.
