No charges will be filed against an adult who got onto a school bus with Camillus middle school students.

According to the district, a 21-year-old man was let onto the bus Thursday morning. He told the driver he was a new student hoping to enroll.

The man was met by the school principal and police when the bus arrived. Police now say he will not be arrested, citing a mental health issue and steps were taken to get him professional help.

They do still have up to a year to file charges if they decide it's necessary.

The district sent a letter home to update parents. The superintendent says protocols and procedures are being reworked, and there will be more training to prevent something like this from happening again.
