If you're missing the warmer months, one of the region's summer staples is now taking a crack at winter.

The New York State Winter Fair runs today, tomorrow and Sunday inside the Expo Center at the fairgrounds. It has everything the state fair has to offer from pizza fritte to carnival games and 10 different rides.

There are also arts and crafts, along with an Indian Village and Pan-African village.

It's $6 to get in, and kids 12 and under are free.

"And you don't have to have the little ones with you. It's great if you do because then they're going to go home and sleep like crazy," said Diane Waldon.

One of the most impressive things you'll find is the full-sized ferris wheel!

"There's not a building like the Expo Center where you can fit a ferris wheel,” said Steve Becker of Premier Promotions. “It's 90 feet high - the ceiling.  And as you can see, you can fit a ferris wheel in here."

"Our next stop is going to be to ride the ferris wheel," said Waldon.

As far as parking goes, you should enter the fairgrounds at Gate 6. Parking is free.

Inside the Expo Center there's also a coat check.  The fair is donating half of those proceeds to the NAACP.

The fair hours are 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday, 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Be sure to stop by the Spectrum News booth when you're there!
