ROME, N.Y. -- Congressman Anthony Brindisi announcing he'll be serving on the U.S. House Committees on Agriculture and Veterans' Affairs.

Brindisi said the position will help him support Upstate farmers, and advocate for veterans' services and benefits.

To get a better idea of the issues, Brindisi is creating advisory councils and wants constituents to apply.

One veteran told Spectrum News he appreciates the move.

"It's our voice. He is our voice, and we know what we deal with locally and we can move that up the chain," said veteran Michael Grogan.
