The West Genesee Board of Education has released a statement regarding an investigation involving the district’s superintendent.

According to the statement, the law firm Ferrara Fiorenza PC will be conducting an independent investigation involving West Genesee superintendent Chris Brown. In a recent social media post, it claimed Brown was involved in a relationship with a district employee.

In a letter released to the district, Brown denied having any relationship with the employee.

"I do not and did not have a romantic relationship with any other employee,” said Brown. “I treat all employees equally and always have."

The statement also says though they cannot comment on the investigation, the board believes they will have finalized the investigation within the next two weeks.

The board president, Roberta Herron, told Spectrum News that Brown would be taking vacation time, though it’s not clear for how long.
