A popular fitness chain is making its way to the Valley.

Planet Fitness is the latest addition to the Green Hills Plaza. It's still under construction, but people have already started signing up for memberships.

Spectrum News spoke with local business owner, Deborah Mann. She runs The Valley Hair Connection and the Saltbox Boutique at the plaze and has been there for 18 years. 

She says while construction was taking place for the gym, her shop was closed off. The entry space has since been reopened.

Despite the inconvenience, she is very excited to have Planet Fitness as a next door neighbor as she's hoping the big chain will bring some much needed foot traffic.

"We're very excited about it," said Mann. "I actually went through the gym the other day. It is going to be gorgeous and we're going to be excited. The whole plaza is going to be redone and more people are coming in, so it's a good thing."

Mann also said in all the years she's been there, she's never seen a company this big at the plaza. She said it's great to see the town put more attention and focus on rebuilding this center.

The Planet Fitness is expected to open at the beginning of next year.
