Police are investigating after a handgun was found outside the Middle Settlement Academy at OHM BOCES, sending the school into lockdown.

Officers say a 17-year-old male student brought it to school and hid it.  Police say the student didn't plan to use the gun at school.

The suspect has since been arrested for second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds. He is being held in Oneida County jail awaiting arraignment.
