The Upstate Family Birth Center at the Community Campus unveiled its $9.2 million project Wednesday.

The 21 postpartum rooms are bigger and more patient-friendly.

Both mom and her baby will have their own private space, with new furniture and their own bathroom.

One mom says after her first pregnancy, she had to share a room and tolerate the noise.

"This time you don't have to because you have your own room," said Tiffany Amaro, a patient. "The privacy is what's amazing. Privacy means everything, especially if you're a breastfeeding mom,  so that was something that was greatly appreciated."

They also improved the nursery and added a lactation room.

The center will open next month.
