Dozens of new citizens join the Central New York community.
46 people from 23 different countries were sworn in Wednesday at a naturalization ceremony at Onondaga Community College.
Some of those countries are a part of President Trump's travel ban list.
They received certificates with a flag, and were asked to recite the National Anthem.
Many were overwhelmed with emotion saying they haven't always felt welcome, until now.
"I still feel like someone should pinch me because its finally happening," said Maria Reynolds, one of the new American citizens. "I'm excited and I just want to scream. There's more opportunity. They call it the land of dreams for a reason."
It usually takes at least six months to a year to get United States Citizenship from the time you apply.
