One of the men involved in a road rage incident that ended in a shooting in Oswego is facing charges.

The other is in critical condition.

According to witnesses two men got out of their vehicles and fought twice along East Utica Street. The first time was near the intersection of East First Street and East Bridge Street.

Things escalated the second time near Duer Street - with the victim being shot four times in the torso. The name of the victim is being withheld - police have said he is 34 and from Oswego.

Police have identified the alleged shooter as 58-year-old Thomas Schrader of Oswego.

He's charged with second degree attempted murder and first degree assault.

Investigators say he legally owned the gun. It doesn't appear alcohol or drugs were involved.

The two did not know each other, and neither had passengers.
