Major construction is ahead for several Lorretto care centers in Central New York.

The Heritage and Cunnigham campuses will go through major renovations over the next few months. The Nottingham Campus will open a brand new memory care center for aging excellence.

The goal of construction is to enhance and expand Loretto's dementia care centers.

Loretto received $5 million from their campaign to go toward the project. It will provide more space and special rooms dedicated to family visits and relaxation and also create new technologies to enhance the experience for residents under care.

"The need for Alzheimer's and dementia care is increasing because of the aging of the population,” said Loretto President/CEO Kim Townsend. “And this is going to provide a very cutting-edge, best of breed facility."

Renovations should be complete by 2020.
