A local animal group is offering a reward for any information that leads to an arrest following an act of animal cruelty.

Cuse Pit Crew was handing out flyers Sunday around Rider Avenue in Syracuse.

That's where Mavis the pit bull was found extremely emaciated nearly two weeks ago on the west side by a Good Samaritan.

They are offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

She is currently recovering in an animal hospital under the care of Fetch A Friend Rescue.

The pit crew is hoping the actions of the person that rescued Mavis will inspire someone to speak up about what happened.

"We're hoping that somebody knows something, and furthermore we are hoping to create some awareness around abuse and neglect for animals so if you see something, say something,” said Stephanie Heath, Cuse Pit Crew founder.

You can report abuse or provide tips to the Cuse Pit Crew at 315-442-5336 or email cusepitcrew@gmail.com.
