The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office says a man is dead after a motorcycle crash in the town of Salina.

Deputies say it happened around 2:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon on Old Liverpool Road near Beechwood Avenue.

Witnesses say the motorcycle was moving fast and the man, identified as 24-year-old Filippo D’Agostino of Liverpool, lost control and hit a utility pole.

Part of the road was shut down while crews investigated.
