SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The rules are changing for game day at the Carrier Dome.

Syracuse University has announced it is adopting a Clear Bag Policy starting this September.

It means no backpacks, camera cases, computer bags or large purses will be allowed inside the gates.

Here's a look at what is permitted:

• small clutch bags (must be about the size of a hand)
• diaper bags if you have a child with you
• medical items

Anyone else looking to bring a bag must have a clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag, and it cannot exceed a square foot.

The policy follows NFL stadium rules, and other ACC institutions.

It won't be strictly enforced for the first three football games of the year, but after that, prohibited items will have to be returned to your car or thrown away.

SU will be providing bags for season-ticket holders, but anyone else wishing to purchase an approved clear bag can buy them at the Dome, SU Bookstore, or other merchandise locations on the Shaw Quad.
