It's the 201st year of the Jefferson County Fair.

People across the North Country will be celebrating all week. The Jefferson County fair is the longest consecutive running fair in the nation.

Fairgoers have the chance to enjoy rides, food, contests, live music and animals.

The fair also draws attention to agriculture in Jefferson County.

"County fairs strategically have been very good about agricultural awareness,” said Fire & Emergency Management Director Joe Plummer. “A lot of people nowadays don't realize where their food might come from, how it's produced."

Admission is free and the fair runs through Sunday evening.
