SYRACUSE, N.Y. --The Syracuse Elks Lodge 1104 is getting ready for its Family Fun Day and they're hoping you can help make a child's day.

They'll be giving bikes away to any child who wants one this weekend.

Last year, 30 to 40 kids couldn't get one because of a shortage.

This year the Elks contacted Jan Maloff who collects and fixes bikes all year.

He contributed about 200 bikes to the Elks but he says more donations would help.

"It's very disheartening to see a child turned away because they're young and they think this could be the end of the world for them if they don't have a bicycle," said A. DeWitt Funeral Home Manager Jan Maloff.

Elks members have also donated several bikes for the event.

Family Fun Day will take place at the Elks Lodge on South Salina Street from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm this Saturday.

If you would like to contribute a bike or make a donation, call Jan Maloff at (315) 446-7570.
