A Florida teacher accused of running away with a teenager he coached was sentenced to a year and a half in prison.

Rian Rodriquez, 27, was found in the town of Salina with the 17-year-old girl after a week-long search. In addition to the prison time, Rodriquez will be on probation for eight years and will have to register as a sex offender.

He had faced up to 30 years in prison and faced charges of sexual activity with a minor and interference with custody.

Police believe Rodriquez was trying to leave the country with the girl, who had been on a soccer team he coached, when they were found. The two admitted to having a sexual relationship, according to court documents.
