During the 'Historic Industry of Fort Drum Tour' participants got to visit 16 sites that played an important role in the areas history.

From Slocum's Mills to Great Bend and Quarry Pond, visitors were able to see areas on Fort Drum they may have never known existed.

"I'm looking forward to Slocum Mills,” said Army Archeologist Laurie Rush. “That's a place where the people that did the most recent dam inscribed their initials and the date. I love those kinds of mementos when you have name from the past and you can imagine."

Quarry Pond was a popular stop along the tour. It's home to the crystal cave.  Tours of the area are conducted throughout the year.
