UTICA, N.Y. — A Utica mother is charged with child endangerment after police say her baby was found crawling in the street.
Utica Police say they became aware Friday night of a video that went viral on Facebook.
The video shows the infant in the road and people getting out of their cars to help him.
Officers were later able to locate the mother. She's been identified as 27-year-old Ledrika Ford.
Ford told police she didn't know how the 9-month-old got in the street. She added that she thought the baby boy was secured in the backseat of a vehicle, and returned to the area after realizing the infant wasn't there.
The boy was taken to the hospital. There is no word on his condition.
Police say all four children were taken from Ford's home as of Saturday morning.
