A beloved ski area in Utica is reopening, but that's as long as Mother Nature cooperates.

After getting several inches of snow Wednesday, city officials announced that the Val Bialas Ski Center will be open this weekend for skiers, snowboarders and sledders.

The hill will only be open for limited hours, running through Sunday evening. Those hours of operation are subject to change depending on the weather.
