SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The second trial for a cold case homicide begins in Onondaga County Court will resume Wednesday.
The first witnesses took the stand in the Ronald Meadow murder trial Tuesday.
He's accused of killing his estranged wife, Colleen, inside her apartment back in 1985.
District Attorney William Fitzpatrick called this a case about jealousy and obsession. Fitzpatrick said back in October of 1984, the pair separated. He says the alleged killer did not force his way into the third floor apartment.
Andrew Frisch, Meadow's attorney, claims an extensive interview with Ron Meadow was done by authorities back then. But, he says there were no audio or video recordings, and original notes weren't kept properly.
In 2014, Meadow was convicted of second-degree murder, but the case was thrown out.
