Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick praised the investigator who was able to locate a missing teen and her adult soccer coach in Salina.

Fitzpatrick called Todd Grant one of the best cops he's ever worked with, and says he wasn't surprised that Grant turned out to be the one who spotted Caitlyn Frisina and Rian Rodriguez.

As for the fact that Rodriguez was actively looking for a job in the area while the manhunt was going on, Fitzpatrick said, "Luckily, stupidity isn't a crime, or our prisons would be bursting at the seams. My understanding is he was being unsuccessful in persuading the young woman to head into Canada, so he was probably trying to give her some sense of stability that he was going to remain in Syracuse."

Rodriguez is charged with interference with child custody in the third degree. He's being extradited to Florida.
