Syracuse police are investigating a pair of shootings that happened within two hours of each other.

The first one happened just before 8 p.m. Tuesday near the 100 block of Basin Street.

Officers eventually caught up to the victim a couple of blocks away near the Spencer Street Bridge over Interstate 81.

A 30-year-old man was shot twice, wounded in his hand and leg. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.

Then just after 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call along Rowland Street.

A 26-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot in his thigh. He is also expected to recover.

Right now, detectives do not believe the two cases are connected.
