ORISKANY, N.Y. -- Civilians and military members attended a Change of Command Ceremony in Oriskany on Sunday.

Colonel Scott Byers is retiring, and Colonel Kevin Costello is taking his place as Commander of the 865th Combat Support Hospital.

The hospital is part of the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Utica. Medics there are provided with training in medical practices and equipment to help prepare for missions. That training is tested through different exercises.

The combat hospital has traveled to several places for annual training over the years. Those places include Fort Drum, Fort Bragg in North Carolina, and Camp Shelby in Mississippi.
