A portion of Utica College's sports dome collapsed Tuesday at around 7:30 p.m. due to the heavy snowfall.

The facility had already been closed for more than five hours and students are currently on spring break.

No injuries were reported.

College officials say they expect the dome to inspected within the next couple of days.

The exact cause and extent of the damage won't be known until then.

Utica College President Laura Casamento said in a statement that "safety is out paramount concern, but we will now work with the manufacturer to bring the facility back on line as quickly as possible."
