One of the four people facing charges in a Tompkins County homicide is the daughter of the Herkimer County Community College president.

Colleen McColgin, 37, is charged with second-degree murder linked to the death of Camden Rundell.

McColgin and two others are accused of trying to rob Rundell at his Newfield home back on December 2. He was later found dead in his front yard.

A fourth person was recently charged with conspiracy in the case.

McColgin's mother, Cathleen McColgin, released a statement Tuesday from her role as head of HCCC saying:

"This will not impact my ability to lead the institution and fulfill my responsibilities as president of Herkimer College.”

Her daughter is currently being held in the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
