LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. -- The man accused of hitting and killing a Thruway maintenance worker with an SUV pleaded not guilty Monday evening.

Police say 31-year-old Matthew Jarvinen of Maine was behind the wheel. He is facing several charges, including seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Jarvinen being held on $10,000 bail or $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court in December.
