Artists and non-profits in the borough can now apply for funding through an annual grant program.

The Queens Council on the Arts offers grants through the Queens Arts Fund each year.

Organizers say the goal is to help artists and organizations dedicated to creating distinctive arts and cultural programming in the community.

In order to qualify, applicants have to attend one of three upcoming information sessions.

“I would like to see all types of activities - all types of cultural activities - going on in all communities of Queens, all neighborhoods of Queens,” said Lynn Lobell, QCA’s Grants and Resource Director. “I think that there are artists all over the borough that are probably doing very special projects and may not understand that there is grant money available for them to share their projects with the neighborhoods in Queens.”

Grants range from $1,000 to $5,000. The deadline to apply is November 10th.
