SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The 83rd annual Valley Field Days kicked off in Syracuse Wednesday morning.
Families enjoyed food and carnival rides throughout the day.
The field days are run by the Valley Men's Club to raise money for local youth sports and health organizations. The President said the secret to the field day's success is the help it receives from the organizations it benefits.
"We've been around for so long and the organizations that we donate money to, a lot of the organizations like the little leagues and lacrosse teams and stuff like that, they come down and help us out, setting up and tearing down and we even have kids that help in the tents and stuff,” said Dan Mahar, The Valley Men's Club President.
The field days will continue through Saturday night at 10:00 p.m.
There will be live bands on both Friday and Saturday night.
