ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Local sights like Pratts Falls and Highland Forest will soon be seen on the big screen.

A historical action film is finishing filming at Skä•noñh Great Law of Peace Center in Liverpool.

The film, titled "Mohawk," is set in the eighteen-hundreds and it centers on tensions between American soldiers and First Nations people. It features WWE star Luke Harper.

This is the fourth time the Los Angeles-based production company has filmed in New York.

"When you’re making a film there’s so much stuff that’s not on screen, whether it’s catering or getting streets shut down and the municipalities. The state is really supportive of allowing us the logistical things to make it happen. It’s such a breeze making movies here,” said Travis Stevens, producer.

Filming wraps up on Friday.

There will be periodic lane closures and delays on the Onondaga Lake parkway Thursday to accommodate production. "Mohawk" is expected to be released in the next nine months to a year.
