LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- Fire destroyed a Liverpool home.
Crews were called to the Shannon Way home around 2 p.m. Sunday.
There were two people in the home at the time of the fire, but they were able to get out safely.
The shed in the back yard, a car in the driveway, and a neighbor's house were also damaged.
Firefighters say the high temperatures did make things more difficult.
"The heat is taking it's toll, we have a rehab set up, one firefighter got transported to the hospital earlier with heat exhaustion," Onondaga County Emergency Management fire director Joe Rinefierd said. "We're trying to control that as we move forward."
There were reports of an explosion when the call first came in.
Officials say they are looking into it and the cause remains under investigation.
