A Herkimer County man is among four new priests ordained over the weekend in the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese.

Father Francis Vivacqua of Frankfort was ordained in a mass and rite of Ordination presided over by Bishop Edward Scharfenberger Saturday.

Dozens of family members, friends, and community members attended the Mass to show their support for the new priests.

The four men come from all different backgrounds but agree the priesthood is their way of making an ultimate contribution to society.

"The people I've come in contact with over the past six years are wonderful. Whether it's been my hometown or my pastoral year in Gloversville. All throughout the diocese being able to speak to and travel to different churches and speaking to the people and doing different work for different charities and functions in the communities," Vivacqua said.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany covers all or part of fourteen counties in New York state including Herkimer County.
