SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Water main breaks are an issue workers in Armory Square have dealt with before.

"When I seen it was over at Black Olive's I said 'well, it happend this time last year, same time,'" said Horace Dorsey, Aster Pantry & Parlor Worker.

Last summer the same stretch of Fayette Street was closed.

Around 1 a.m. on Thursday, city crews responded to another break.

A team of five cut a piece of the road about 5.5 feet deep to get to the root of the problem.

They say it's no different than fixing other breaks.

"Cut the pipe out go get the materials, come back and put it all back together, just like a puzzle," said Bernard Shuler, Water Department Foreman.

A spokesperson with the Mayor's Office says it's a "fairly run of the mill water main break."

People who work in the area say there's a solution.

"Gotta fix the whole pipes, the whole system," Dorsey said.

For now, they're just happy the water's back on.
