SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Saturday afternoon marked the 10th anniversary of the Downtown Living Tour in Syracuse.

The Downtown Committee opened the doors of 10 of the newest examples of urban living spaces throughout downtown Syracuse as well as two bonus stops that fell just outside of downtown's boundaries. The self-guided tour gives people from all walks of life a chance to see exactly what is available downtown in the way of housing.

Additionally, the fact that it is a walking tour gives tour-goer's a chance to see what a day in the life of a downtown resident might be like.

"Downtown is a great destination, you have restaurants you have retail boutiques... You have everything that you could think of within an 82-block radius. As downtown becomes more lively and more vibrant, more people are moving here," said Alice Maggiore, tour organizer.

The downtown committee says there are currently 3,250 people living downtown, which is up more than 40 percent from when they started doing the tours 10 years ago.
