CORNING, N.Y. -- Congressman Tom Reed is speaking more about his decision to endorse Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Reed, who represents the 23rd Congressional District, has been pressured by Trump supporters over the past week to decide whether or not he will support the candidate.

Reed's endorsement comes just a week after Buffalo developer Carl Paladino sent a mass email to Republican politicians pressuring them to back Trump if they want to stay in New York politics.

Reed said he believes Trump will be able to help grow the economy.

"I think his ability as a proven job creator and as someone who is coming from this political position from the perspective of being a private business owner, private business developer and job creator himself, that is a critical piece of information that I respect of Donald Trump," said Reed.

The only other Republican congressman in the state who has endorsed Trump so far is Chris Collins from the Buffalo area.
