It's business as usual at Hancock Airport, where the snow hasn't slowed too many travelers down to this point. Gabrielle Lucivero has a look at how the airport is handling the weather.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Despite the snowy weather, it's been relatively smooth sailing at Hancock International Airport.

"The airport here and the people here are very used to all the snow and everything, they handle it very well so I'm not concerned at all,” said airline passenger Judith Jager.

With few delayed flights, the main issue Wednesday wasn't in the air, it was on the ground.

"The drive in was probably my biggest concern,” said Jager.

"We came down last night and stayed in the airport hotel because we didn't want to chance any of the weather. So then we just took the shuttle over here,” said Elizabeth Vanslyke, another airline passenger.

While it may have been a while since the airport has seen winter weather like this, it's really nothing that they're not used to. They have the ability to clear a runway in about five minutes. In fact, Hancock has received quite a few awards for their snow removal efforts.

"You can always see the plows that are out there, they're always really good about de-icing. People stay very friendly and keep everyone calm because they're not worried either,” said Jager.

Out on the roads, it was a different story. A Syracuse-area truck stop was packed with drivers preparing for the weather.

"It's snowing pretty hard, it's mealy, it's very slippery. I'm used to driving in it, but you definitely have to take your time in this,” said driver Michael Kirschner.

But the best advice?

"Just stay home,” said one driver.

A safe bet that plenty of people followed on this snowy day in Syracuse.
