It's your chance to do some holiday shopping but help a good cause at the same time. The Junior League of Syracuse will host its 20th annual Holiday Shoppes fundraiser this weekend at the state fairgrounds. Brad Vivacqua has more.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It is only early November, but mark your calendars because you can get some of those holiday gifts taken care of.  This weekend will mark the Syracuse Junior League's 20th Holiday Shoppes fundraiser here in the Horticulture Building.

The local Junior League formed in 1920, while about 250 current female members continue to volunteer helping numerous organizations.

Proceeds from ticket sales at this weekend's event will help the non-profit with community projects and training.

You can find more than 160 local vendors with everything from homemade chocolates and jewelry to home decor and crafts.

"You don't have to go through the mall and sort things, they're all in one place. Lots of our vendors don't have stores, so this gives them the opportunity to showcase their items that you might not see in the store or at the mall, so we encourage people to join us for those reasons," said Syracuse Junior League President Jenny Jackson Donahoe.

Donahoe says the Junior League encourages you to learn more about the group and consider joining in the future.

As for the Holiday Shoppes, the event will take place here in the Horticulture Building. Hours are this Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $8 at the door or at select Price Chopper locations.

You can also get tickets online and find a full list of all the participating merchants on the Junior League's website.
