VIRGIL, N.Y. -- One person is dead and another is hospitalized after a crash in the town of Virgil. It happened on State Route 13 near the Elm Tree Golf Course a little before 6 p.m. Friday.
Cortland County Sheriff's deputies said one of the cars crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic and hit another car. One of the drivers, a 42-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second driver was taken to the hospital for their injuries. The drivers' names are being withheld until the families are notified.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
