MASSENA, N.Y. -- Massena residents and visitors curious about the town's history may be happy hear the town's museum is taking steps to relocating and expanding.
The museum is currently on East Orvis Street, but some say it's not enough space. A local lawyer offered to buy a vacant credit union in downtown Massena to be used as a museum and cultural center.
The town is in the process of taking ownership of the building. With more space, there could be more exhibits.
"The Main Street location is perfect for the town museum and for a cultural center. It's a stone-surf from the town and the library and it's a nice, new community asset I hope will bring more people downtown as well," said Massena Town Supevisor Joe Gray.
If all goes on schedule, the Museum could be completely re-located by the end of the year.
