BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul stopped Monday at Anheuser Busch's massive brewing facility in Baldwinsville, outside Syracuse. The plant employs more than 650 workers, has been in operation for decades and the company continues to vow to contribute jobs to the region.

Hochul is spending time this summer visiting successful manufacturing operations, hoping to learn from them how to change state structures and regulations to encourage more growth.

"It is important that we continue to nurture those who've planted their feet in an area  like Baldwinsville, because these would be tough to replace 655 jobs. They've been here since 1980. They've invested more than $1.4 billion in this facility alone so, I hope that that's a statement that they're staying," said Hochul, D.

At the same time, Hochul says New York state must continue to show support for new and growing companies who will build the manufacturing base of the future.
