The New York State Fair is about a month away.

The music acts are booked and fair Interim Director Sean Hennessey has said the vendors will be back to full capacity.

Ticket sales began on Wednesday. Within the first half hour, he said they sold 1,000 tickets. He said the price of admission is the lowest of any state fair at $3.

“For a family of four, you can come here, take city bus, $20 and that’ll get you in the gate and get you right here, so its very affordable. So we just hope everybody takes advantage of the great prices and the great fun right here at the great New York State Fair," said Hennessey.

There aren’t any rules about masks this year, but there will be free COVID-19 testing available for vendors.

“No restrictions at the fair this year. In terms of masking, we hope that folks are cautious about their safety and if they’re not feeling well, we hope they do mask, but there’s no set rules in terms of masking at the fair," said Hennessey.

There are lots of music acts coming to the fair that haven’t been announced just yet. Just Thursday, they announced new addition Steven Page, former frontman of the Barenaked Ladies.

The first day of the fair is Aug. 24 and it runs through Sept. 5.
