Hailing from the New York town of Barton, Town Clerk Arrah Richards-McCarty's favorite thing about being an elected official is helping her community members in any way she can. One thing she wishes people knew about her job is that she performs a wide range of duties to help take care of local residents. 

Three words that Richards-McCarty would say capture her town are "agricultural, beauty, and community." For her, an ideal day in Barton would include visiting Sopranos Market, getting pizza, going kayaking, and not looking at her watch or cell phone. 

Richards-McCarty's hobbies include gardening and crocheting. Her favorite movie is Eat, Pray, Love.
